Company 1473 of the Civilian Conversation Corps was one of many companies of the CCC in the 1930's. It was located near Bristol, TN in the Unaka National Forest.
Company 1473 produced a publication known as "Bright-Wise" for the years 1933/1934. It is a small publication of 32 pages containing information about the company's commanding officers, the enrollees, a brief company history, camp activities and commercial advertisements.
My father was in Company 1473 during those years and this was one of those things he valued enough to put away for safe keeping over the years. He passed away in 1976 and this became of importance to me and likewise, I put it away for safekeeping. Suprisingly, or should I say frighteningly, that has now become "over the years".
Recently, I have had more time on my hands and felt it was time to ensure that I had a copy for safe keeping of this 70 something year-old publication and share it with others who may have an interest in the CCC and especially Company 1473.
